Alternator Belt I've got a smaller pulley and the belt i have is all the way tight and is still loose and squeals especially when its cold and the next size down from what i have will not go on with out a ton a force then it will eventually break. Does anyone know a place that would make custom belts or a place that have every size known to man?

your alternator shoudl be able to move up and down to adjust to the belt.

Its to the farthest point it will go and is still loose and when i had the next size down and with the alternator all the way down the belt had to be forced on.

try calling advance and tell them your belt size and ask them for a belt one inch shorter

You dont need a custom belt they make belts all different sizes just either take your belt number and get one a little smaller or take it off and bring it into a shop and visually get one smaller.

I have done that and none of the auto part stores has the size that I need. The one i have is all the way tight and the alternator is all the way up on the bracket. And the next size down from the one i have has to be forced on and after so many miles they belt just snaps in half and the alternator is all the way down on the bracket.

You can get gatorback belts from summit in 1/2" increments. Just go to the www.goodyear.com website and they will have the part number and go to summitracing.com and get one 1/2" smaller.
For example my stock belt was
4060790
it is 79 inches long.
to get 1/2" smaller search for
4060785
