The thermostat I have is 160. But I have no problems running 180 plus engine temperatures. Is the fan told to switch on at a lower temp to match the thermo stat you run? Yes the chip is reprogrammed to turn it on at a lower temp, the stock setting didn't turn on the fan 'til 215* with the AC off. It shut the fan off at 205*. Stock T-stat was like 195*. I have a cooling fan over-ride system I run at the track. It has it's own digital controller to turn on the fan at 180* and back off at 165* with the 160* T-stat. I'd like to go with Evans NPG coolant one day.
