Check Engine Light
Hey guys, I've got an 06 Tiburon and my check engine light came on earlier today. I'm due an oil change but I got my book out to see what it said about it and it says: This light illuminates when there is a malfunction of an exhaust related component, and the system is not functioning properlyso that the exhaust regulation values are not satisfied. Is there any way possible that this light is associated with me needing an oil change? If anyone has any ideas please lemme know. Thanks, Bruce

If its that new I'd take it back to the dealer, should still be under warranty.

9 times out of 10 it has something to do with the emission system. Have you recently changed your exhaust or installed a cool air intake?

If the exhaust or intake is installed correctly, and leave the cat in the same position car companies cant void your warranty unless they can prove without a doubt that something aftermarket you did caused a problem anyway.

haha my tC does that too, around 200 miles before every 5000 miles it comes on.. sucks doesnt it?

The cel comes on for a oil change? On audis and vws they have a service reminder that is seperate from the cel, some cars even have a light for service also

Yeah, my car has that information center on it and it reminds me every 3,000 miles that I need the oil changed.
