clutch problems?!?!?! HELP PLEASE ok, my brother has a 98 f-150 with 170,000 miles and recently has been having problems with getting it in gear, its a standard. well, today whatever is the problem bit the dust. his truck will no longer go into gear without being pushed. if he leaves it in gear and shuts it off it is fine as long as he goes forward, but if he has to back up, it wont go into any gear without pushing it and it still takes it a while to go into gear. so if anybody knows what wrong with it, please help. also, if it is a clutch, if there is anybody on here who can replace a clutch and will do it for very little money (we are both pretty much broke, he will probably have to have our parents pay for whatever it is so he can pay his bills), let me know. any type of help at this point is greatly appreciated. thanks!!!!

A worn out clutch shouldn't make it hard to go into gear. Did you check the fluid in the clutch master cylinder?
