Might be a problem Ok heres the deal, this morning it was cold as hell but I started the Lightning and I noticed the oil light was on and the gauge didnt move it was at 0...so I said what the fuck so I gave it a little gas and it went to where it should be...so well I thought I will go change the oil anyways. 70 bux later I drove to the shop. About 5 hours later, remind you cold as hell outside....I started it up and the same thing happened I gave it a lil gas and it went to where it should. But when I drive and when at idle its fine, just when I start it when its cold, this is the first day its done it. So tomorrow im goin to Midway to get it checked, any ideas on why its doing it. It almost seems the gauge is sticking or something I dont fucking know!!!!

What oil are you running in it?
Team1320Lightning- 12-07-2006
Synthetic, it done it before and after the oil change.

Hook a mechanical gauge to it before you get too worried. It might be a loose wire or bad oil sending unit.

Well im taking it to Midway tomorrow to get checked..I dont have a manual gauge here.

Modular Ford oil sending units are famous for failing.

Could just be its freaking cold out and the oil is thick. Noticed tonight when I started my van to go to work with its real oil gauge it took awhile to get from 20psi up to the normal 60psi cold pressure at idle. I'm running 15w 40 which is probably a bit thick for 16 degrees.

That could also be possible, I ran 5w20 in it full synthetic. Im sure its probable nothing but im goin to take it to get checked.
